ABOUT US

Dr Ward-Harvey

Dr Richard Ward-Harvey completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of New South Wales in 2000, and worked at various hospitals in NSW such as Royal Prince Alfred and St Vincents Hospital, before electing to undergo Vascular Surgery training. He did this at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Concord Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital, and the Gold Coast Hospital. He has gained his Masters of Surgery at the University of Sydney, and completed his Vascular Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He now has appointments at the Gold Coast University Hospital, Pindara Hospital, Gold Coast Private Hospital, and John Flynn Hospital. Most of his elective private operating is at Pindara Hospital.

Dr Ward-Harvey is a member of the Pindara Hospital Medical Advisory Committee, and was the convenor of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Vascular Surgery Annual Scientific Congress 2021.  He is the supervisor of vascular surgical training at the Gold Coast University Hospital, and is involved in teaching vascular surgical trainees the most modern techniques. He regularly attends scientific conferences in Australia and abroad.

Dr Ward-Harvey has extensive training and experience in both open and endovascular (minimally invasive) techniques for both arterial and venous disease, and will always seek to tailor the treatment to the patient, rather than the other way around.

The Gold Coast Vascular practice site is situated at Suite 2, 189 Ashmore Rd, Benowa (The Professional Centre). There is parking in marked bays under the building, or in Benowa Gardens Shopping Centre right next door. There is a patient drop-off zone at the front entrance, for ease of access for patients with mobility difficulties.
